About Mole Removal
What is the best way to remove a mole?2024-04-25T01:06:59+00:00

There are many popular treatments commonly used to remove moles. Some of these include laser, freezing, excision and radiofrequency ablation. All of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages, you just have to find the method that best suits your needs. Here at Mole Removal Temecula we use radiosurgery for both mole removals and skin tag removals. Our board-certified surgeon believes that his method is the best option, especially for those who are worried about scarring. With this technique, radiofrequency ablation heat is used to remove the mole gently and precisely. This leads to little to no scarring and permanent results and you wont need to come back for another session.

Is shaving off a mole safe?2024-04-25T01:07:29+00:00

Shaving off a mole is a safe technique and it’s commonly used with dermatologists and at medical spas. With this method a doctor will use a scalpel to shave off the mole, going through various layers of skin until reaching the root. Although it’s considered a safe method, it’s extremely harsh on the skin and can cause severe scarring. Make sure to talk with your healthcare provider to discuss which method is best suited for you and your case. Our office typically does not recommend mole shaving with a scalpel for various reasons. It is best to consult with one of our mole removal surgeons during a consultation at our office prior to making any decisions about treatment plans.

Can I remove my mole at home?2024-04-25T06:23:31+00:00

We highly discourage people from removing a mole at home or use any DIY kit to remove a mole. At home mole removals are dangerous and often lead to an infection. These types of treatments are never effective, the mole has a strong likelihood of growing back. At home mole removal can also cause severe scarring, which does not go away easily or at all. Also, there are many over the counter mole removal pens, creams and solutions that are sold in stores and online. All of these products and medications are extremely unsafe to use because they are not regulated by the FDA. They can cause more harm than good. They can also destroy the lesion making it harder for dermatologists to check for skin cancerous moles afterwards. This means that the skin cancer could spread unnecessarily and you would not know.

Some at-home dangerous remedies that are NOT recommended include:

• Apple cider vinegar
• Garlic or oregano oil
• Castor oil or baking soda
• Lemon juice and tea tree oil
• Hydrogen peroxide, aloe vera, coconut oil, iodine
• H-mole Formula
• Fibroblast Plasma Pen

How many sessions are needed to remove one mole?2024-04-25T01:07:47+00:00

At our clinic only one session is needed to remove a mole as our results are permanent. Most of our patients get the procedure done right after their consultation. The only reason one would need to have another appointment is if they are getting various moles treated that require more time. In that case, we can plan for two sessions and break the time up. We pride ourselves in providing efficient care for our patients, so we make sure our patient waiting time and flow is quick and professional. For patients who are removing more than 10 moles or skin tags, we offer special package pricing and sessions so that you get the best price for the procedure. Additionally, we have our own private parking lot for free parking for patients, so you never have to worry about parking when you come for your mole removal session.

About Skin Tag Removal
What Are Skin Tags exactly?2024-04-25T18:52:51+00:00

Skin tags are excess growths of skin that appear on areas of the body where skin rubs against skin and creates friction. They can also appear anywhere on the body for no reason too. They often appear in clusters of 10 or more on the body, but they can also appear singularly on the body. Skin tags are often skin colored and contain many blood vessels. Millions of people around the world are bothered by these small, non cancerous, or benign, annoying skin tags. Skin tags can appear on people of all ages, children, teenagers, adults and mature adults as well.  Skin tags are commonly found on the face, neck, eyelids, thighs, armpits and scalp.

Do skin tags grow?2024-04-25T18:53:07+00:00

Yes, absolutely! Skin tags, medically known as acrochordons, tend to grow bigger, wider and deeper as you age and get older. The most noticeable type of skin tags appear on the face and they are hardest to treat too. The sooner you schedule an appointment to remove the skin tag, the better, because skin tags get harder to treat the larger they grow. We invite you to visit our clinic for a consultation as soon as you notice the skin tag growing on your face or body.

Are Skin Tags Medically Dangerous?2024-04-25T18:53:12+00:00

Skin Tags are not typically dangerous, they are simply benign skin growths made up of blood vessels and collagen. However, skin tags have been linked to dangerous medical conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and PCOS. However, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes they simply grow due to genetics. Although they are not dangerous, it is always a good idea to have them inspected by a surgeon at least once in your life to make sure they are harmless. Most of the time, patients opt to remove skin tags for aesthetic and cosmetic reasons. They also appear and affect both men and women equally.

Can you prevent the growth of skin tags?2024-04-25T18:50:14+00:00

You cannot prevent the growth of skin tags no matter how hard you try. Skin tags are a naturally occurring skin condition that appears on children and adults. We have treated children as young as nine years old with phenomenal results. There are some actions you can take to reduce the chances of skin tags appearing. These actions include avoiding friction in skin fold areas (like between your thighs, arm pits etc) and managing serious medical conditions like diabetes. The more you can prevent skin friction the less likely are the chances of skin tags growing.
