Skin Tags are not typically dangerous, they are simply benign skin growths made up of blood vessels and collagen. However, skin tags have been linked to dangerous medical conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and PCOS. However, this isn’t always the case. Sometimes they simply grow due to genetics. Although they are not dangerous, it is always a good idea to have them inspected by a surgeon at least once in your life to make sure they are harmless. Most of the time, patients opt to remove skin tags for aesthetic and cosmetic reasons. They also appear and affect both men and women equally.
